Wonder Woman Leading The Domestic Box Office with Record-Breaking Opening Weekend

A super hero was badly needed after the worst memorial day weekend performance in past two decades. With the highly appreciated efforts and 'highly foreseen' "Wonder Woman" delivered upto the expectations of the spectators. Unlike the analysts' projections a gross of $100 M is estimated by 'The DC comics film' in United States and Canada on its opening weekend, which is 30 to 40 % more than the initial expectations of studio's analysts.

“Here you have a property that has really resonated with audiences all around the world,” said Jeff Goldstein, the studio’s distribution chief. “There is something special about Gal Gadot, but something timely about ‘Wonder Woman.’ She is a character that just has been embraced worldwide.”

The princess of Amazons, Diana also well known as 'Wonder Woman' has put in 75 years defending the world in television shows and DC comic books. She has battled close by Batman and Superman with her sword and Lasso of Truth. In-spite of that her male counterparts hoarded the extra large screen greatness. As of recently. Finally, 'Wonder Woman' has succeeded with Gadot in leading role to claim her position in the pantheon of superheroes. This $150 Million worth movie is directed by Oscar winner and Emmy nominated and biggest blockbuster female Director ever, "Patty Jenkins". She also holds honor to be best female Director to replace the Director of "Fifty Shades of Grey's" Director Sam Taylor-Johnson ($85.1 million).

Women have since quite a while ago attempted to get behind the camera of Hollywood's greatest creations. Female Directors represented only 9 percent of the 250 top-netting films in United States in 2015 and just 7 percent in 2016.

As compared with other superhero movies, 'Wonder Woman' ($100.5 M) is a bigger debut hit than “Iron Man” ($98.6 million), “Doctor Strange” ($85 million) and “Thor” ($65.7 million). After taking into account the strongly positive remarks from critics, such a wonderful performance was well predicted. Audience will beget to see a new look of 'Wonder Woman' in the form of 'Justice League' in the upcoming November. “My guess is that you’ll see a lot more of her in time,” Goldstein said.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," which remained a top film in the previous week, fell badly to %21.6 million in its next week. 'Wonder Woman' with its amazing success provided a fuel and acted as catalyst to much needed summer box office.
