Old Slum Transformed Into Rainbow Village in Indonesia

A small village Kampung Pelangi is converted into a very rainbow colored village giving a magical look of animated movie having rich and vivid colors. The credit of this mysterious transformation goes to the Java Community residing in the district Semarang, who spent $22,467 on this paint job of transforming 232 slum houses of this degraded slum into art of work.

A high school principal Slamet Widodo took initiative after getting inspiration from three similar projects located in different locations of Indonesia. These renovated slums including Kampung Pelangi have become a major attraction for local as well as international tourists and even honeymoon couples from different countries are visiting these slums. This creative art work has improved the living standard of local villagers and they earn alot by providing different services to the tourists.
