For those who have a dream to own a Castle, now is your opportunity to own one. Government of Italy has announced to giveaway 103 properties including Villas, Inns and Castles absolutely free. Anyone can have his own type of decoration like waterfall, swimming pools and lighting etc but only catch which Italian State Property Agency expects owners is to reinstate the property so that it can be used as tourist destination. The property will be used for commercial purpose will completely be discretion of new property owner property will be completely accessible to tourist. This 'give-away' scheme has been launched by Italian government to promote tourism and also to secure its valuable architecture. Roberto Reggo, a senior official Italian State Property Agency told locals, “The project will promote and support the development of the slow tourism sector. The goal is for private and public buildings which are no longer used to be transformed into facilities for pilgrims, hikers, tourists, and cyclists”. Administration also expects that this plan will migrate the load of tourists from dense populated and overcrowded areas to remotely located hotspots of tourism.
26th June is the deadline to avail this opportunity and applicants will have to submit a plan of project initially for 9 years period, if the plan is successful and the aim of attracting tourists and maintaining the architecture is successful, the property will remain with that owner for further 9 years. If the application of any applicant is refused due to any valid reason, there is nothing to worry about. Italian Government plan to 'Give-away' 200 more properties after two years.
